Introducing the Galaxy S21: Supporting today’s hybrid workplace

The past year has been full of challenges that have tested our adaptability, resilience, and resourcefulness as a society and a workforce. While we remain optimistic that work and life will stabilize in the coming months, one thing is certain — we won’t be going back to business as usual.

That’s because the pandemic has ushered in the future of work that we already knew was coming — a hybrid workplace that encompasses the home, the office and spaces in between. At Samsung, we embrace change and designed the Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra 5G to serve as the collaboration and productivity hub for this new landscape.

Operating in this new workplace requires new ways of communicating and collaborating that help teams get on the same page, even if they’re not in the same room. The Galaxy S21 gives you the flexibility, power, and security to work the way you want, wherever you are.

We built our newest Galaxy phone for business with a few key ideas in mind:

Openness

The Galaxy S21 works seamlessly with your existing business tools so you can work however is best for you.

For example, it natively integrates core productivity apps including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and OneDrive so you can tackle work wherever you are. You can also use Link to Windows to take calls, respond to messages and access all of your phone apps on your PC.

Samsung DeX helps you go beyond the limitations of mobile by actually transforming your S21 into your PC. Just connect to your display, pair a keyboard and mouse, and you have an intuitive desktop experience powered by your phone. With the latest Galaxy smartphones, you can even connect to DeX wirelessly on any Miracast-enabled display or smart monitor, on your Windows PC or Mac.

Innovation

The hybrid workplace demands a phone that can keep up with the pace of business and your transitions from home to office and back. The S21 offers all-day battery life and intelligent power saving, plus Super-Fast Charging when you need to do a quick top-up.

You also get full support for HyperFast 5G across the range. The Galaxy S21+ and S21 Ultra 5G add smart new connectivity features like Wi-Fi 6E and ultra-wideband (UWB) connection, which gives you a new way to share files between devices, locate tagged items and even unlock your car hands-free.

Collaborating and vlogging are also easy with S21’s camera system, our most impressive yet. With Director’s View, you can record video front and back simultaneously and take full advantage of every lens for more dynamic presentations, virtual tours, training videos and streaming sessions.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is also the first S series device that’s ready for the Galaxy S Pen. Pair an optional S Pen with your device to enjoy a pen and paper experience as you take notes or share ideas.

Security

Of course, when it comes to security, we always have your back. As usual, we built the S21 on the Samsung Knox defense-grade security platform, which defends your device against hackers, malware, and other threats. It’s a secure foundation for everything you want to protect on your phone, including biometrics, mobile payments, and health data.

To take security to the next level, the S21 introduces Knox Vault, a chipset-level security platform. By adding tamper-resistant secure memory to our secure processor, Knox Vault adds a further layer of protection to guard against physical, fault and side-channel attacks.

For IT teams managing large device fleets, we are also introducing the Galaxy S21 Enterprise Edition, which includes Knox Suite — a full set of advanced mobile management tools — to get your deployment underway, free for the first year. You also get a little extra peace of mind, knowing that your devices will be supported with security updates for a full five years of security maintenance releases.

Embracing the future of work today

None of us may have thought we’d be here so soon, but the hybrid workplace of the future has rapidly become a reality. Now workers are looking to their employers to provide them with the tools they need to be inspired, productive and even excited about their work — wherever it’s taking place.

We’ve built the Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra 5G for business — not business as usual, but business as it operates today and will continue to be run in the days ahead.

The Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra 5G are Android Enterprise Recommended and available as Enterprise Edition devices for business.
